Mike McKenna, B.Sc. (OT)
Consultant Occupational Therapist
Mike McKenna has joined Progressive Rehab following 3 years at OrionHealth’s Surrey and New Westminster Clinics and 10 years at WorkSafeBC. During this time he also worked in his own community based private occupational therapy practice. He has experience in functional evaluation, work conditioning, work site assessments, job demands analysis, graduated return to work planning, hospital discharge and community rehab. He has developed strong negotiation skills to bring together workers, employers, unions and insurance companies around a common goal of returning to maximum function and return to work. Much of Mike’s clinical experience relates to populations with chronic pain and activity related soft tissue disorders, as well as those who have traumatic injuries (both orthopaedic and soft tissue) and rheumatological conditions. He has experience prescribing home health adaptive equipment, and development of in-home and community reactivation programs. Mike also has claims adjudicative and management experience that adds to his unique blend of skills and collaborative approach that results in positive outcomes to complex situations.
Qualifications & Memberships:
• Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of BC
• Member of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT)
• Graduate of the University of British Columbia, Faculty of Medicine, School of Rehabilitation Medicine (Occupational Therapy)
